Professional Kitchen Fitting Course

Our Fitting Course covers the elements necessary to become a professional kitchen fitter.

Pre-Requisites
To enrol on this programme, you don’t need any previous experience, the most important requirement is a desire to learn.

Learning Method
The course is provided as practical training. You will be instructed on all elements of kitchen fitting, building your skill level up to the desired level of competency, that will ultimately result in your work being up to professional standards. This is a progressive course; your ability will improve under the guidance of an experienced and highly qualified tutor.

Practical Workshops
You will be spending your time under instruction at our training centre, to complete the practical training that makes up your programme. Your progress will be discussed formally at the end of each week and you will have the opportunity to discuss in depth any course related issues with an instructor at any time during
the course.

Throughout the course you will be building a portfolio of evidence which will be used as demonstration of your competence. You will need to provide your own overalls and steel toe-capped working shoes, although these can be provided at an added cost should you need them. All necessary tools and materials will be provided.

Qualifications
After successfully completing the training you will have the opportunity to move on to an NVQ Level 2.
You can also attain your CSCS Card.

Course Duration:
1 to 2 Weeks (up to 2 years to complete the course)

The training is designed to instil in you the fundamental skills to work with the appropriate tools and materials.

The modules includes:

  • Full kitchen installation.

  • Butt & Scribe worktops (by hand & jig).

  • Kitchen design.

  • Building Regulations for waste pipe and
    sink installation.

  • Cutting out the worktop for inset of a sink unit.

  • Setting out and levelling units to a datum line.

  • Cutting and joining a worktop to 90°.

  • Fixing taps, waste pipes and traps.

We take into consideration factors such as your current working hours or other studies you are undertaking.
