5 Day Carpentry Course

This is a 5-day intensive course, which takes place in our purpose built carpentry-training department. Fully compliant with all City & Guilds requirements this department provides excellent facilities enabling you to work and learn at your own pace.

As no previous experience is necessary for this course it is suitable for anyone who is looking to complete a DIY project or who may be thinking about a future career in carpentry. It is the ideal first step if you want to proceed to a City & Guilds Carpentry qualification at a later stage. During this 5-day course you will be taught:

  • The correct use of hand tools such as chisels, planes etc.

  • How to cut basic joints

  • The cutting and fitting of dado rails,
    architraves, skirtings and doorstops

  • How to erect a stud-wall

  • How to fit a door lining/frame

  • How to hang a door correctly

  • The correct fitting of locks etc
